I might add that reading this book while watching a Netflix Movie tited "My best friends Girl" made me think how 'high frequency' the main character was in the movie. Is there any relationship between that movie & this book? Just asking.
If Wasei-eigo had been on Perry's ships would he have performed better? Wasei-kango would almost for sure not have been read, as Japan looked down upon Chineses.
